Christine Inserra
By trade Christine is a physical therapist and teacher of the Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais Method. As a singer/musician her real love is of southern hymns, spirituals, gospel and jazz. Christine has been singing in amateur choirs since 1982. She began with Chicago’s own Artemis Singers and sang with the Pre-Madonnas in London where she got her Alexander certification. Since 1994 she has been singing with the Lake Street Church of Evanston’s Chancel Choir and sang soprano with the Transformers, the church’s gospel quartet. Currently she sings with the highly spirited Wailin Mahalias. Instrumentally she plays guitar for the church's Dances of Universal Peace
and accompanies herself on the hurdy gurdy. Selections that require a pianist are marked; one can be provided, for an additional charge. Special requests are welcome but subject to lead-time and music availability. Christine may be reached at inserrac@sbcglobal.net or at 773 480-0282.
